EHL Hospitality Business School is proud to announce that it has received the prestigious AACSB Business accreditation. AACSB International —The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business – is the world’s largest business education network connecting students, academia, and business to advance business education worldwide. Schools that have earned AACSB business accreditation demonstrate an ongoing commitment to excellence in teaching, research, curriculum development, and learner success.

AACSB accreditation constitutes a major milestone in the history of the school and its evolution as a leading institution in hospitality management education. EHL Hospitality Business School is the only standalone hospitality management school in the world to receive this accolade and only the 7th school of business and management in Switzerland to be granted this quality label, testifying of the school’s commitment to excellence.

Welcoming the news, Professor Markus Venzin, CEO of EHL Group said: “With a rich history spanning 130 years, EHL has transformed from a small Swiss hospitality school into a beacon of hospitality management education and knowledge transfer. The school’s journey of innovation and excellence is a testament to the expertise and passion of our community – continuously inspiring sustainable growth for our students, our partners and our industry. At EHL, we have honed a unique expertise in human centricity and our graduates are known for their versatile skill set and intuitive understanding of service and people. Today, we are delighted that EHL is recognized for its excellence as a business school.

Member of the Business Education Alliance since 2016, EHL Hospitality Business School initiated the AACSB accreditation process in 2019 when it first demonstrated alignment with the AACSB Guiding Principles. Guided by AACSB’s 2020 Business Standards, it has since engaged multiple internal workgroups, committees, faculty and professional staff to develop its research impact, assurance of learning framework and community involvement. Following a peer-review process which concluded with a site visit in March 2024, the AACSB’s Initial Accreditation Committee established that EHL Hospitality Business School fulfilled the accreditation requirements and was awarded accreditation for 5 years.

At the core of our ethos lies a holistic approach to education. It’s a hallmark of the Swiss system, where academic rigor meets hands-on experience, all infused with a passion for hospitality. Our institution and its community have embraced the process of continuous improvement, self-reflection and peer-review, which come with our voluntary engagement in AACSB’s accreditation. Alongside academic accreditation milestones and recognitions, EHL has become a multifaceted, multi-campus university of applied sciences, rooted in Switzerland and with a global footprint. It now wholeheartedly joins an accredited network of business schools known for its excellence.”, shared Dr. Juan-Francisco Perellon, Chief Academic Officer of the EHL Group.

EHL Hospitality Business School has a solid tradition of serving the local and international hospitality and service industry as well as enjoying a strong global reputation, evidenced by a diverse international student body. In recent years, the school has made major commitments to providing a world-class environment, by responding to sectoral evolutions and pedagogical innovations to provide students and stakeholders with the most positive learning, teaching and working experience.

“Today, we are immensely proud to be recognized by AACSB for the quality of our programs, our faculty, our students and our graduates. It is the demonstration of our growth and development as well as our contribution to the education sector through education, thought leadership and societal impact. The School’s internationalization and digitalization efforts as part of the recently launched EHL Group Strategy 2027 will ensure a continued engagement with the most demanding quality standards.” indicated Professor Achim Schmitt, Dean of the Hospitality Business School. “On behalf of my fellow EHL leadership team members and faculty, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all the peers, AACSB colleagues, evaluators and partners who have guided and supported us in this endeavor.”
